TheSlowMusicMovement Those paying attention might know Sam Grassie from his TSMM approved Avocet project, & their track for the Future Folk compilation. Although Avocet appears no more, Grassie's been busy paying his dues on the folk circuit & collaborating on various projects. This EP is a first outing for his classic folk rooted solo material & you can't help thinking it's just a matter of time before his consummate guitar work & warm, reassuring vocal tones find a wider audience.

guyrhart I’m delighted to have bought this in the day of its release. It feels like a favourite album already. The choice of songs is great, the backing is excellent and the performances are very mature. Wonderful guitar playing from Sam goes without saying. I look forward to many more albums to come. I hope they’ll be vinyl options in future. Favorite track: Return to Fingal.

brian_mackenzie17 I first heard Sam Grassie at the John Martyn “Gathering” a few years ago. Apart from looking like and playing like Bert Jansch his voice also has a similar timbre. It was clear he has a rare talent and I followed his work through the excellent Avocet years.
It is wonderful that this first EP has been made through the Bert Jansch Foundation and is very worthy of that provenance.
A great selection of music and beautifully played and produced.
I’m looking forward to seeing him live. Favorite track: Kishor's.
